Which account do you have?

Two kinds of account. Different rules.

Your benefits booklet or portal will say which you have - some employers offer both. Every plan is different, so check yours before you book.

Wellness or Lifestyle Spending Account

Also called a WSA, LSA or wellness account

  • Your employer decides what it covers, often fitness and wellness as well as health.
  • Many can cover a Yāna Baseline.
  • It's a taxable benefit.

Health Spending Account

Also called an HSA or health care spending account

  • Covers medical expenses the Canada Revenue Agency recognizes, tax-free.
  • Services generally need to come from, or be referred by, a recognized practitioner.
  • For a Baseline, ask your doctor, physiotherapist or chiropractor for a referral.
How it works

Four steps to claim it back.

Yāna doesn’t bill insurers directly: you pay on the day and claim the cost back.

  1. 01Check your planLook in your benefits portal or booklet, or ask your provider, with the questions below.
  2. 02Book your BaselineBook online, then pay at Yāna Motion Lab on the day of your session.
  3. 03Get your receiptIt arrives by email once you've paid, with what a claim needs.
  4. 04Claim it backSubmit the receipt through your benefits portal or app. You're reimbursed according to your plan's coverage and limits.
Before you book

Questions to ask your benefits provider.

  1. 01Do I have a Wellness or Lifestyle Spending Account, a Health Spending Account, or both?
  2. 02Is a movement or fitness assessment an eligible expense?
  3. 03For my Health Spending Account, do I need a referral from a doctor, physiotherapist or chiropractor?
  4. 04What needs to be on the receipt?
  5. 05Is there an annual limit, or a deadline to claim?
Your receipt

What’s on it.

  • Yāna Motion Lab's name, address and phone
  • Your name and email
  • The service, with its date and description
  • The amount, tax and total paid
  • How you paid, with a receipt number
  • When a clinic referred you, the referring practitioner and their registration number
Not on your plan?

Ask your employer.

Employers decide what their Wellness and Lifestyle Spending Accounts cover. Your HR team can add movement assessments, or bring Yāna to the whole team.

It depends on your plan. Many Wellness and Lifestyle Spending Accounts can cover a Baseline, and a Health Spending Account usually can with a practitioner's referral. Your benefits provider can confirm what yours covers.
