Chronic Pain Sufferers

A Focused Approach to Injury & Disability Management

Reduced movement due to ongoing pain is a huge challenge to those suffering from chronic pain syndromes. To support recovery, physiotherapy and range of motions exercises are usually part of their therapy. We know it is a long road and the changes are often hard to appreciate as they are small and gradual. Yāna utilizes an easy-to-use, 8-camera, markerless 3D markerless motion capture system that accurately and objectively records those changes. Our Body Motion Assessment report provides them as well as yourself as part of their care team with the positive reinforcement that they are improving and making small critical changes that show progression towards full motion health.

Is Yāna For My Clients/Patients?

Question

Can Yāna Reduce Their Pain?
Pain is a complex process with multifactorial influences. The context of their pain is usually best discussed with their health professional. We believe that our assessment will help them and you identify potential areas that could help them move better and be more physically robust.

Question

Does a Yāna Assessment Provide a Diagnosis?
We provide a clinical movement assessment service to help you better understand your client/patient's movement patterns and make better informed choices to support them to full recovery. Only registered medical professionals are able to give a diagnosis based on your medical history. Think of us as the blood pressure cuff of human movement that helps to inform any diagnostic decision.

Question

Will Yāna Help With Their Recovery?
The Yāna Report is incredibly valuable and allows healthcare professionals better understand a patient’s situation, equipping them or you to select the best possible treatments and fast-track the recovery process.

The Paradigm Shift

The advances in computational and cloud processing and motion capture technology have created a ‘Paradigm Shift’ in the tracking, set-up and measurement of musculoskeletal health and range of motion. In as little as 30 minutes you will have an objective, accurate and comprehensive look at your client’s complete movement pattern. This technology was simply not possible before and is more accurate and reproducible than techniques presently used. We like to think about markerless motion capture like a doctor performing a CT scan; while they can examine a patient with their hands, a CT scan gives far more information about their patient’s body and is now a gold standard evaluation tool for healthcare professionals around the globe. Yāna’s 3D markerless motion capture techniques and proprietary reporting protocols represent the same leap in information gathering and will soon be the new gold standard in musculoskeletal assessment.

Yāna’s Unique Assessment System

Our assessment is beneficial for people who suffer from chronic pain. Chronic Pain is a debilitating condition affecting approximately 19% of Canadians.  One of the challenges these patients and their care team face is the often slow pace of improvement. An objective test that can demonstrate every small improvement can be used to support recovery over time.  We believe this tool can be a benefit to the care providers and patients alike. Knowing the status of their musculoskeletal system is just as important as knowing a blood pressure or cholesterol level, and Yāna has the only comprehensive, fast, accurate and proven tool available.
